Selectarc MIG 20/10MN
This low carbon solid wire, designated 20/10MN, is specifically designed for Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW) of austenitic stainless steels, particularly grades 316L and 304L. It is characterized by its non-magnetic properties and the absence of ferrite in the weld deposit, making it suitable for demanding applications. The wire offers a robust chemical composition, with a minimum and maximum percentage of various elements including Carbon, Silicon, Manganese, Chromium, Nickel, Molybdenum, Copper, and Nitrogen, guaranteeing the desired mechanical properties. It is a critical choice for cryogenic applications where material integrity and resistance to extreme temperatures are paramount.
This wire is primarily used in GMAW processes for welding cryogenic applications involving austenitic stainless steels like 316L and 304L. It is suitable for welding components exposed to extremely low temperatures, offering resistance to cracking and maintaining structural integrity. The recommended welding parameters, including current, voltage, and shielding gas composition (Ar+0.5-5%CO2 or Ar+0.5-3%O2), are crucial for achieving optimal weld quality and performance. Back shielding with Argon or Nitrogen is recommended to prevent ‘back end’ rust phenomena. It’s important to consult the Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) for safety information.
