Selectarc MIG 20/10C
This high-carbon solid wire, designated ER308H, is specifically designed for Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW) of stainless steels such as 304H and 308H, which contain a high carbon content. It is primarily utilized for the creation of components exhibiting creep resistance and oxidation resistance at elevated temperatures, generally ranging from 400°C to 750°C. The wire boasts a carefully formulated chemical composition, ensuring optimal weldability and performance in demanding applications.
This wire is ideal for applications requiring robust welds in stainless steel, including the manufacture of boilers, piping systems, and pressure vessels. Due to its composition, it is particularly suited for environments where components are exposed to high temperatures and corrosive atmospheres. Proper back shielding with Argon or Nitrogen gas, potentially supplemented with a copper backing support, is recommended to prevent ‘back end’ rust formation during the welding process.
