Selectarc MIG 17/4CU
This solid wire, conforming to AWS A5.9, ISO 14343-A and G Z 17 4 Cu standards, is specifically designed for GMAW (Gas Metal Arc Welding) processes of stainless steels with similar chemical compositions, including 17-4PH, X5CrNiCuNb17-4-4, and XAS. It’s a high-performance wire suitable for demanding applications. The technical specifications ensure robust weld metal properties, particularly after post-weld heat treatment (PWHT) and precipitation hardening, allowing for optimal strength and durability in critical components.
This wire is primarily utilized in aerospace, marine pump and turbine manufacturing, as well as for repairing turbine discs and blades. Due to its enhanced mechanical properties following heat treatment, it’s ideal for applications requiring high strength and resistance to corrosion. Specifically, it’s recommended for use with GMAW processes utilizing shielding gases like Argon with Oxygen or Argon with Carbon Dioxide, maintaining a flow rate of 15-20 l/min. Post-weld heat treatment at 1020-1050°C/1h followed by a precipitation hardening at 610-630°C/4h is crucial for achieving optimal mechanical properties.
