This solid wire is specifically designed for hardfacing steels with similar chemical compositions. It excels in toughness and heat resistance, making it suitable for applications demanding high performance under challenging conditions. The wire is primarily used for overlaying and building up wear-prone machinery parts, tools, and dies, particularly those subjected to impact, compression, and abrasive wear. It can withstand operating temperatures up to 550°C.

The HB48HT wire is ideal for constructing forging and drawing dies, rebuilding hammers, dies, swages, and hot shear blades. It’s also suitable for creating rollers and cast molds. The wire’s robust properties ensure longevity in demanding environments. Following welding, machining operations such as grinding or using carbide tools can be performed.
