Selectarc MIG CO6
This cobalt-based solid wire is specifically designed for MIG harfacing applications, particularly with Stellite™ Grade 6. It offers exceptional resistance to metal-on-metal wear and corrosion, maintaining its performance up to 800°C. The wire exhibits high resistance to thermal and mechanical shocks and is suitable for polishing and machining. This product is ideal for demanding applications where high-temperature resistance and durability are crucial.
The MIG CO6 wire is primarily used for hardfacing a range of components, including valves, valve seats, sealing surfaces, hot shear blades, hot pressing tools, and coke beaters. It’s especially suitable for applications requiring resistance to wear and corrosion at elevated temperatures. Specific welding procedures involve preheating components to 300-600°C, maintaining this temperature during the welding process, and then cooling slowly, ideally in an oven, to minimize the risk of cracking. The wire is typically used with a shielding gas mix of Ar/CO2, at flow rates of 18 L/min, and a welding current between 140-180A.
