Selectarc FCW 309L
This flux-cored wire is specifically designed for welding 309L stainless steel and for joining dissimilar materials, including low alloy steels, with 304 or 304L grades. It’s characterized by a high ferrite content, which allows for significant dilution without cracking, and is suitable for applications requiring high productivity, particularly in downhand and fillet welding. Easy slag removal is also a key feature. It complies with AWS A5.22, ISO 17633-A and M21 standards.
This wire is primarily used in pressure vessel fabrication, maintenance, and repair operations, as well as for pre-cladding and final hardfacing applications. It’s suitable for FCAW (Flux Cored Arc Welding) processes when utilizing a shielding gas mixture of Argon and Carbon Dioxide. Welding parameters are recommended between 150-400 Amperes and 23-35 Volts, with a flow rate of 12-20 liters per minute. Consult the MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet) for fume information.
