Selectarc FCW CO6L
This flux-cored wire, designated Cobalt Grade 6, is designed for hardfacing applications demanding exceptional wear resistance. It is a low carbon, cobalt-based tubular wire suitable for use with gas shielding (Ar 100%) and offers resistance to abrasion, metal-metal wear, and corrosion up to 800°C. The weld deposit is non-magnetic. It is manufactured according to AWS A5.21 and EN 14700 standards, providing a robust solution for critical components.
This wire is primarily used in applications requiring high wear resistance, such as the fabrication of hot shear blades, valve seats and covers, and forging tools. It is suitable for welding in FCAW (Flux Cored Arc Welding) mode with either pure Argon shielding gas (Ar 100%) or a mixture of Argon and Oxygen (Ar + O2), using a flow rate between 10 and 20 l/min. Welding parameters should be adjusted according to the specific application, with typical current ranges of 100 – 250 A and voltage ranges of 140 – 350 V. The recommended stick-out is 16 – 29 mm.
