Selectarc FCW CO12
This tubular flux cored wire, designated Cobalt Grade 12, offers exceptional resistance to metal-metal wear and abrasion in corrosive media at elevated temperatures up to +800°C. It’s specifically designed for hardfacing applications and combines this resistance with protection against erosion and thermal shocks. The wire is based on a cobalt base and is used with a 100% Argon shielding gas (ISO 14175: I1). It’s manufactured according to AWS A5.21 and EN 14700 standards, with specific chemical compositions (Type 1.6 and a general specification) and delivers a hardness ranging from 230 HB to 46 HRC depending on the welding temperature.
This wire is primarily used for hardfacing applications, particularly in demanding environments. Typical applications include the wear-resistant facing of saw teeth, cams, shafts, seats, valves, rubber and plastic mixers, and screw conveyors. It’s suitable for areas exposed to high temperatures, corrosion, and abrasive wear. Welding parameters are recommended for FCAW (Flux Cored Arc Welding) using a 100% Argon shielding gas at specified intensities and voltages.
