Selectarc Inox 2509MoWB
This is a basic coated electrode specifically designed for welding super-duplex stainless steels. It features an austenitic-ferritic microstructure (duplex ~40% ferrite), offering a combination of strength and corrosion resistance. The weld metal is suitable for operation temperatures up to 250°C and demonstrates resistance against pitting, crevice, and stress corrosion in chloride-containing environments. It’s ideal for welding and cladding steels and castings with an austenitic-ferritic structure commonly used in pumps, vessels, and piping systems subjected to chloride solutions. It’s particularly well-suited for components like impellers requiring high strength alongside corrosion protection. This electrode is classified according to AWS A 5.4, EN 1600, and ISO 3581-A.
This electrode is primarily used for welding and cladding super-duplex stainless steels, particularly in demanding applications involving chloride environments. It’s suitable for fabricating components like tanks, pumps, and piping systems, as well as for manufacturing impellers. The welding procedure recommends a short arc and slight electrode declination. Post-weld heat treatment (redrying at 250-300°C for 2-3 hours) is recommended to enhance mechanical properties.
