Selectarc Goug
This electrode is designed for chamfering, grooving and gouging all metals, including stainless steels, cast iron and copper alloys. It offers a strong blowing characteristic for efficient metal removal and produces a smooth, uniform cut. The non-conductive coating creates a carbonized surface, requiring a light grinding (0.1mm) for optimal results. It’s particularly useful for eliminating screws, rivets, welding beads and for chamfering foundry defects or cracks prior to repair welding, as well as for chamfering hardfacing deposits or tempered steels.
This electrode is ideal for a variety of applications, including removing fasteners, chamfering defects in cast iron or steel, preparing surfaces for repair welding, and creating chamfers on hardfacing deposits or tempered steels. It’s suitable for working with stainless steels and copper alloys. To maximize performance, incline the workpiece and utilize a sawing motion (forward and back) while maintaining an approximate 20° electrode angle.
