Selectarc B82
This basic coated electrode, designated Selectarc B82, is specifically designed for welding cold tough steels, particularly fine-grain steels and heat-treated steels. It’s formulated with Nickel to enhance cold toughness and provides excellent performance at low temperatures (-60°C). The electrode offers a robust solution for demanding applications requiring high mechanical strength and resistance to cracking.
The Selectarc B82 electrode is ideally suited for applications involving liquid gas distribution (pipes and tanks), offshore operations, and petrochemistry. It’s commonly used in environments where the material needs to maintain its structural integrity at very low temperatures. Following welding, a redrying step at 350°C for one hour may be necessary, especially with heavy thicknesses, alongside potential preheating of the weld joints above 100°C. It conforms to various international standards including AWS, EN, ISO, ASTM and DIN.
