Selectarc B63

This Selectarc B63 electrode is a basic coated electrode specifically designed for welding creep-resistant steels. Alloyed with Chromium (Cr) and Molybdenum (Mo) – 1% Cr – 0.5% Mo – it offers excellent performance at high temperatures, up to 500-550°C. It’s characterized by a soft fusion, facilitating good slag removal and resulting in a visually appealing weld bead. It’s suitable for demanding applications where creep resistance is crucial.

This electrode is primarily used for welding high-temperature piping systems, boilers, and overheaters. It’s a key component in petrochemical and chemical industry applications where it provides the necessary strength and resistance to deformation at elevated temperatures. It is compatible with a range of base materials including EN 15Cr3, 16 MnCr5, and various grades of steels defined by ASTM standards such as A335 Gr.P12 and A387 Gr.12Cl2. Recommended preheating and cooling procedures, along with post-weld annealing, are crucial for optimal weld quality and performance.
