Selectarc HBMnCr

This Selectarc HBMnCr electrode is a synthetic basic coated electrode offering high efficiency (140%). It’s specifically designed for surface applications subjected to high impact, cavitation, and corrosion simultaneously. It’s also suitable for joining manganese- and construction steels, and serves as a protective cushion layer before hardfacing in demanding reclamation scenarios. The resulting deposit is austenitic and demonstrates exceptional resistance to impact, wear, and cavitation, thanks to the high chromium content which increases corrosion, abrasion, and cavitation resistance.

The Selectarc HBMnCr electrode is ideal for repairing worn components or providing preventative protection in applications like railway systems (rails, switches, crossings, tongues) within quarries and mines (crusher jaws, excavator and grab teeth, mill hammers, rock crushers), and for hydro power stations. Specific applications include piston repair for hydraulic presses and turbine components. Welding parameters – a current between 90-220A depending on electrode size, a redrying step at 300°C if necessary, and minimal heat input – are crucial for achieving optimal mechanical properties and maintaining interpass temperatures below 250°C. Preheating is not required.

Le 11 juin 2025 – Framatome annonce une prise de participation dans Selectarc à hauteur de 40%, aux côtés de son actionnaire majoritaire Viellard Migeon & Compagnie. 

Ce partenariat vise à sécuriser l’approvisionnement des métaux d’apport stratégiques, essentiels dans le processus de fabrication des composants du circuit primaire des réacteurs nucléaires français.
