Selectarc HBMar50
This is a basic coated electrode designed for age-hardenable applications. It provides a stable arc, regular drop transfer and a smooth weld deposit. The deposited metal exhibits resistance to wear at high temperatures and can be age-hardened, making it suitable for building up machinery parts and tools subject to impact, compression, and wear, particularly at operating temperatures up to 500°C. The deposited metal can also be machined with standard tools before undergoing a subsequent heat treatment for age hardening.
This electrode is primarily used for building up machinery parts, tools, dies for extrusion of Al-castings, and hot working tools, as well as moulds. The deposited weld metal is designed to withstand high temperatures and wear, and can be further enhanced through age hardening. Proper welding practices, including cleaning the weld zone, preheating the workpiece to 100-150°C, maintaining a short arc, and allowing for slow cooling, are essential for optimal results.
