Selectarc HBC62
This is a Rutile-basic coated electrode specifically designed for hardfacing various cutting tools. It utilizes a C-Cr-Mo-W martensitic deposit, offering resistance up to 500°C. Following welding, the deposit requires a specific heat treatment process – involving a 850°C anneal for 2 hours, followed by slow cooling (approx. 3°C/min) and subsequent tempering cycles – to achieve and maintain its hardness.
This electrode is primarily used for hardfacing machining tools, cutting tools made of steel, punches, drills, and shear blades. Due to the required post-weld heat treatment, it’s ideal for applications where wear resistance and hardness are crucial, such as tools operating under heavy metal-on-metal contact.
