Selectarc HB68Nb

Selectarc HB68Nb is a basic, almost slag-free hardfacing electrode designed for exceptional abrasion resistance. Featuring a high chromium and carbide content, it delivers a service life up to five times longer than conventional Chrome-Carbide electrodes. This electrode is suitable for heavy mineral abrasion and moderate impact applications. The virtually slag-free nature of the coating facilitates smooth bead formation and reliable transfer. While crack formation is normal for this type of composition, it offers superior durability and performance in demanding environments.

This hardfacing electrode is ideal for protecting endless screws, mixer paddles, pump bodies for abrasive materials, excavator teeth, concrete pumps, screws for brick presses, and brick moulds. It’s particularly effective in areas subject to low to moderate shock where high abrasion resistance is critical. Proper welding techniques – a low amperage arc with slight weaving – are recommended to maintain low dilution and achieve maximum hardness in the first layer.
