Selectarc HB61B
The Selectarc HB61B is a robust hardfacing electrode designed for applications involving significant wear and tear. This general-purpose electrode offers excellent resistance to impact, compression, and abrasive wear. It’s suitable for hardfacing components crafted from C-steel, cast steel, and manganese steel, producing a tough and crack-resistant deposit. With a recovery rate of approximately 120%, it provides substantial material savings. The finished weld metal achieves a hardness of around 58 HRC.
This electrode is ideal for hardfacing components such as block presses, crusher jaws, wheel rims, rollers, caterpillar tracks, ploughshares, running surfaces, and cutting edges. Specific recommendations include the use of a buffer-layer with Selectarc 18/8Mn for materials prone to cracking. Preheat to 200-400°C for high-alloy tool steels, and allow for slow cooling in still air following surfacing. Welding parameters are provided for various electrode sizes and currents.
