Selectarc HB48HT
The Selectarc HB48HT is a basic coated electrode designed for hot working tools. It offers excellent toughness and heat resistance, making it suitable for overlay and rebuilding machinery parts and tools subjected to impact, compression, and wear. The electrode is intended for use at operating temperatures up to 550°C and is compatible with high-strength carbon steels and hot working steels, as listed in the specifications.
This electrode is primarily used for building up hammers, dies, swages, hot shear blades, and rollers. It is ideal for applications requiring robust performance under demanding conditions. Preheating is recommended between 250-400°C depending on the workpiece thickness. Maintain a short arc and allow for slow cooling after welding. Grinding or tungsten carbide tools can be used for subsequent machining.
