Selectarc Cu116

The Selectarc Cu116 is a basic coated Cu-Al Bronze electrode designed for joining and surfacing aluminium bronzes containing up to 10% Al, and for creating dissimilar joints between steels and CuAl-bronzes. It is also suitable for overlays on cast iron, steels, and copper alloys. This electrode offers excellent weldability, a stable arc, reduced spatter formation, and easy slag removal. It’s a robust solution for demanding applications.

This electrode is primarily used in shipbuilding, seawater applications, desalination plants, and the chemical industry, particularly for parts exposed to saltwater (such as propellers and bearings). It’s also suitable for repairing and surfacing cast iron, steel, and copper alloy components. Proper preheating and technique (short arc, low welding speed) are recommended for optimal results, especially on heavier sections.
