Selectarc Al105

This is an aluminium electrode formulated with 5% silicon (Si), specifically designed for welding and repairing aluminium and aluminium alloy components. It’s suitable for joints connecting aluminium with alloys like AlCuSiMn, AlSiMg, and AlZnMg. The electrode is frequently utilized in applications involving aluminium castings, such as engine blocks, cylinder heads, tanks, and containers, often found in lorry tippers.

The Selectarc Al105 electrode is ideal for welding aluminium and aluminium alloy joints, particularly in demanding applications like engine block and tank fabrication. It is crucial to maintain a dry environment during use, as humidity pickup significantly affects weld quality. Preheating massive pieces to 150-250°C and employing a short arc with a 90° electrode guide are recommended to minimize porosity. Regular slag removal and a fast travel speed ensure optimal weld formation.
