Selectarc PHOSBRAZ CPA 2
PHOSBRAZ CPA 2 is a copper-phosphorus-silver alloy (CuP-Ag) formulated without silicon, designed for manual brazing applications. This alloy is characterized by its low melting point, which significantly improves electrical conductivity and ductility. It’s suitable for joining copper, and low-zinc brasses, and offers good fluidity, resulting in robust, leak-proof joints. It’s particularly useful in plumbing, electrical components, refrigeration, and heating/ventilation systems. Key benefits include strong joint strength, good gap-filling capability, and resistance to vibration and cyclic pressure. However, it’s not suitable for applications involving sulphur or materials containing iron, nickel, or cobalt.
PHOSBRAZ CPA 2 is primarily used for brazing copper tubing and fittings in diverse applications. It’s recommended for joining copper to copper or low-zinc brasses, particularly in plumbing, electrical connections, refrigeration systems (temperature ranges from +150°C to -20°C), and heating/ventilation equipment. The alloy’s fluidity and gap-filling properties make it ideal for creating strong, leak-proof joints. It’s a versatile choice for applications requiring high conductivity and durability. The user should carefully consider the material compatibility, avoiding use with sulphur-containing media or metals like iron, nickel or cobalt, to ensure proper joint performance and longevity.
