Selectarc PHOSBRAZ AG20

PHOSBRAZ AG20+ is a CuP alloy formulated with silver, designed to lower the liquidus temperature, refine the alloy structure, and subsequently enhance electrical conductivity and ductility. It’s a versatile alloy ideal for manual brazing applications, offering good fluidity when joining copper sleeves, tubes, and connections, including machine joints. This alloy provides strong, leak-proof joints due to its excellent gap-filling capabilities. However, it’s crucial to note that this alloy is not suitable for use with sulfur-containing media or for joining steel (Fe) or materials containing Iron (Fe), Nickel (Ni), or Cobalt (Co) due to the formation of brittle phases. Corrosion resistance is comparable to copper, but can be compromised in the presence of sulfur or at elevated temperatures. This manual brazing compound provides a robust solution for copper to copper applications.

PHOSBRAZ AG20+ is primarily used in plumbing, electrical components, refrigeration, and heating/ventilation systems. It’s an economical choice for joining copper to copper, and can be utilized with low-zinc brasses when combined with Phosbraz flux. Specifically, within air conditioning and refrigeration applications, it can withstand service temperatures ranging from +150°C (without strength loss) to -20°C. It is suitable for use with a flame. The properties of the brazed joint are affected by various factors, including the base metal and joint design. Precise dimensions and types are available in various sizes, with coil preforms available in 1.50, 2.00, 2.50, and 3.00 mm.
