Selectarc PHOSBRAZ AG150
PHOSBRAZ AG150 is a copper-phosphorus-silver alloy (CuPAg) designed for brazing applications. It features a 15% silver content, which significantly lowers the liquidus temperature, refines the alloy, improves electrical conductivity, and enhances ductility. This results in strong, leak-proof joints, particularly beneficial for copper connections, sleeves, tubes, and machine junctions. It is a versatile alloy suitable for joining copper to copper and low-zinc brasses, often used in conjunction with Phosbraz flux. It’s important to note that this alloy should not be used with sulphur-containing media or ferrous metals (steel, iron, nickel, cobalt) due to the formation of brittle phases and potential corrosion issues under specific conditions.
PHOSBRAZ AG150 is primarily utilized in plumbing, electrical components, refrigeration, and heating/ventilation systems. Its key applications include joining copper to copper, particularly for sleeves and tubes. It’s frequently employed in air conditioning and refrigeration systems, offering service temperatures ranging from +150°C to -70°C while maintaining strength. It can be brazed with a flame. The alloy’s fluidity allows for bridging wider gaps, making it ideal for various joint designs. Due to its properties, it’s essential to avoid using it with materials containing sulfur or ferrous metals.
