Selectarc PHOSBRAZ P68
PHOSBRAZ P68 is a self-fluxing copper phosphorous brazing alloy specifically formulated for strong brazing applications involving fittings, pipes, and joints with significant gaps. Its controlled fluidity and low phosphorus content contribute to its robust performance. This alloy offers corrosion resistance comparable to copper, though performance can degrade in the presence of sulfurous gases or at elevated temperatures, such as those found in cooking ranges. It is suitable for joining copper to copper and cuprous alloys (bronze, brass) and can be utilized within the electrical industry and plumbing.
This alloy is ideal for brazing copper to copper and cuprous alloys, eliminating the need for additional flux. It can be applied in electrical and plumbing applications. While it can operate within a temperature range of +150°C to -20°C in air conditioning and refrigeration systems, its maximum short service joint operating temperature is 200°C. Crucially, it is *not* recommended for use with sulfur-containing media or ferrous metals (steel, iron, nickel, cobalt) due to the formation of brittle phases. Always consult the Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) for detailed safety information.
