Selectarc PHOSBRAZ M60

PHOSBRAZ M60 is a specialized copper phosphorous brazing alloy formulated for robust brazing applications, particularly for joining fitting, pipes and components with significant joint gaps. Its controlled fluidity and low phosphorus content make it suitable for demanding applications. This alloy possesses self-fluxing properties and offers corrosion resistance comparable to copper, although performance can diminish in the presence of sulphur-containing gases or at elevated temperatures like those found in cooking ranges. It’s a reliable choice for electrical and plumbing applications, but it’s crucial to note it’s not recommended for use with ferrous metals (steel, iron) or alloys containing iron, nickel, or cobalt due to the formation of brittle phases within the joint.

PHOSBRAZ M60 is ideal for brazing copper to copper joints, eliminating the need for external flux. It’s commonly utilized in the electrical and plumbing trades. Due to its temperature range, it’s applicable in air conditioning and refrigeration systems for service temperatures between +150°C (maintaining strength) down to -20°C. The maximum short-service joint operating temperature is 200°C. Careful consideration must be given to material compatibility, avoiding ferrous metals and alloys containing nickel, cobalt, or sulphur-containing environments to ensure optimal joint integrity and performance.
